除了八卦精神,還需要一點「物化的精神」。於是想起一首詩,就把它從原網址 [1] 轉載過來:
順勢而下理性分析

在旅程完結之際
「粉身碎骨」,在這個案例上倒不至於。但是下場如何呢?其後果的首要考慮,是硬碟資料的存亡。它到底可以承受幾 G 的加速度呢?另外,「在旅程完結之際」,到底必須承受幾 G 的加速度?只用地表的重力加速度 9.8 m/sec2(1G)來計算終端速度,顯然不夠充分,因為她真的用力把電腦往前摔(稍微往前是必要的,砸到腳可不好玩)。地板,聽起來是結實的磁磚或水泥,而不是榻榻米,這一點關係至為重大,因為它決定了分母,一不小心就會讓除法的結果趨近於無窮大。不過因為還沒有太多做這種實驗的機會,經驗實在有限得很 [b],目前難以推估。總之,「在旅程完結之際」,負加速度一定是很多、很多 G,再加 1G。
那麼,資料倖存的可能性如何呢?我(磁頭)的習慣是,沒事的時候,就趕回停車位停車。因為鎖在停車場裡,就不會搖搖晃晃,去碰到、刮傷重要的硬碟磁面。但是這回情勢相當複雜。她居然先把蓋子闔上,這時我就不得不離開停車位,出門執行任務,處理進入休眠相關事宜。我動作通常很快,完事之後就可以馬上停車。但是她實在太急了。說時遲,那時快…我也曾盡力地挺直腰桿,嘗試撐過這一波重力浪潮的衝擊,但在那「無所謂天與地,與暈眩共一體」的瞬間,我終究「逃離」了與硬碟磁面保持距離的「亙古宿命」,再也不理會「誰將痛苦」。
[註 1] 2001 年 911,我在學校裡的一個咖啡廳,聽到電視上的恐怖攻擊新聞快報,隨即看到當時德國總理 Gerhard Schröder 的公開談話,接著跟著大家一起默哀,不過,沒聽到有人在數 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 [c](天啊!我是在做夢嗎!?)。印象深刻的是這一句:「今天,我們都是美國人」(Heute sind wir alle Amerikaner.)。剛剛才發現,這句話應該是社會民主黨(SPD)黨團首席 Peter Struck 講的 [2]。這句話的意涵是,自由世界的團結一致(Solidarität/solidarity)。
話說柏林圍牆剛築起的冷戰時期,西德總理是康拉德.艾德諾(Konrad Adenaur, 1949-09-15 to 1963-10-16)。1963 年 6 月 26 日,美國總統約翰.甘迺迪(John Fitzgerald Kennedy, 1917-05-29 to 1963-11-22)來到西柏林,演講時準備了小抄,以德語發音講了一句膾炙人口的名言「我是柏林人」(Ich bin ein Berliner)[3]:
但願有朝一日,我們在類似的危急情境當中,也可以「我是台灣人」(civis formosus sum),來保護自己!但是,今天,「我們都是那台電腦」。
[註 2] 其實,"Ich bin ein Berliner." 聽起來有點詼諧,因為我吃過 "Berliner"。那是一種圓圓的夾心麵包,上面通常灑了白色的糖粉。最好的辦法還是按這裡,看看 Google 給你的影像。到柏林旅遊的人,別忘了買一個來吃吃看。除此之外,也要記得嚐嚐路邊的 CPM(Currywurst-Pommes-Mayo),也就是切塊的德國香腸淋上辣醬跟咖哩粉,加上薯條配美乃滋。在台灣,很難吃到附加美乃滋的薯條,後來我都乾脆用麥當勞的蛋捲冰淇淋代替美乃滋,這樣起碼在視覺上得到一點補償…請看看這裡的圖片吧。Hmmm... 就快受不了∼
[註 2] 後記 2013-08-12。今天碰到了一個正要飛布拉格的捷克人。問他布拉格有沒有這種東西可吃?他說當然有!我說,在台灣都吃不到這種東西,他居然跟我說有。氣死我了。問說哪裡?他說忘了是在麥當勞還是 Burger King。在這種地方,漢堡裡面明明多得是美乃滋,所以外國人就仗著外國人的優勢,跟櫃台要一盤美乃滋來配薯條,再加上原本附的一包一包的蕃茄醬,就成了德國人所謂的「紅白」(rot-weiß)薯條。他說都是跟德國人在一起幹這種事情。所以打算下次也來試試看,能不能在麥當勞得到「紅白薯條」。

There are many people in the world who really don't understand, or say they don't, what is the great issue between the free world and the Communist world. Let them come to Berlin. There are some who say that communism is the wave of the future. Let them come to Berlin. And there are some who say in Europe and elsewhere we can work with the Communists. Let them come to Berlin. And there are even a few who say that it is true that communism is an evil system, but it permits us to make economic progress. Lass' sie nach Berlin kommen. Let them come to Berlin.
Freedom has many difficulties and democracy is not perfect, but we have never had to put a wall up to keep our people in, to prevent them from leaving us. I want to say, on behalf of my countrymen, who live many miles away on the other side of the Atlantic, who are far distant from you, that they take the greatest pride that they have been able to share with you, even from a distance, the story of the last 18 years. I know of no town, no city, that has been besieged for 18 years that still lives with the vitality and the force, and the hope and the determination of the city of West Berlin. While the wall is the most obvious and vivid demonstration of the failures of the Communist system, for all the world to see, we take no satisfaction in it, for it is, as your Mayor has said, an offense not only against history but an offense against humanity, separating families, dividing husbands and wives and brothers and sisters, and dividing a people who wish to be joined together.
What is true of this city is true of Germany--real, lasting peace in Europe can never be assured as long as one German out of four is denied the elementary right of free men, and that is to make a free choice. In 18 years of peace and good faith, this generation of Germans has earned the right to be free, including the right to unite their families and their nation in lasting peace, with good will to all people. You live in a defended island of freedom, but your life is part of the main. So let me ask you as I close, to lift your eyes beyond the dangers of today, to the hopes of tomorrow, beyond the freedom merely of this city of Berlin, or your country of Germany, to the advance of freedom everywhere, beyond the wall to the day of peace with justice, beyond yourselves and ourselves to all mankind.
Freedom is indivisible, and when one man is enslaved, all are not free. When all are free, then we can look forward to that day when this city will be joined as one and this country and this great Continent of Europe in a peaceful and hopeful globe. When that day finally comes, as it will, the people of West Berlin can take sober satisfaction in the fact that they were in the front lines for almost two decades.
All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Berlin, and, therefore, as a free man, I take pride in the words "Ich bin ein Berliner."
